Grace Hanson

My name is Grace Hanson and I’m 93 years old. I am a member of Lakeridge Lutheran Church and have been participating in the Crop Walk since 1999. I am an avid walker, walking Monday through Friday from my apartment to the Renton Senior Center where I volunteer approximately 6 hours a day. Many of the donations I receive for the Crop Walk are from friends at the Senior Center.I walk the entire distance of the Crop Walk course, plus the added distance to and from my apartment to the start. I walk (rain or shine) with my sons and grandchildren, along with friends from church and the Senior Center.I encourage everyone who enjoys walking to participate. It’s great exercise and supports a great cause.

Max Kenyon

My name is Max and I am a 17-year-old student in the Seattle area. I have been walking the Crop Walk for over ten years and look forward to it each spring. I love to walk every year with my friends and family to help end hunger in the world. One year, as a service project, I was able to bring children my age from an organization I was a part of called “People to People Ambassador Programs”. That year Crop Walk raised over $34,000 to help end hunger, which was incredible. I would recommend to anyone who is thinking about the Crop Walk to attend if they can. The people are nice and the walk is a great chance to meet new people. There is a DJ in the beginning and many checkpoints with snacks along the way (I love snacks). This is our chance to give back to those who really need it. Thank you for your time.-Max
